Flock of Tea Cosy’s collection of eco-friendly trivets are made from the off-cuts of the tea cosy production into beautiful, useful tools for protecting your table or counter-top from hot tea or coffee pots and damp vases.
The organic/irregular shaped, MEDIUM SIZE trivet is roughly 5.75″ x 5.25″ and is made from a single layer of 3mm (1/8″) 90% industrial wool felt made in Ontario wool felt. Your trivet may not look exactly like the one in the photograph but will be close.

I was inspired in part to keep all the felt offcuts — besides the fact the felt is so dear — by Ray Anderson, CEO of Interface, an American rug manufacturer who, in the seminal 2003 documentary The Corporation, talked about reclaiming the wasted roll ends of carpets to make more beautiful carpets. By doing this they reduced the amount of petroleum that had to be pulled from the earth and saved their company money all at the same time. That’s eco-logic. Waste not, want not.
